The John W Sellars Chapter of the TOS will meet again at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 20 October 2018 in WPA Cabin 13 at Cedars of Lebanon State Park. The program will be on Melissa & Roy Turrentine’s trip to Glacier National Park in Montana and Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming this summer.
But before the meeting, we will do some early morning birding. Meet Stephen Zipperer at the Dixon L. Merritt Nature Center at Cedars of Lebanon State Park at 7:30 a.m. where we will consolidate into as few vehicles as possible and venture into the wilds of Wilson County in search of late fall migrants or anything else that moves.
As always, anyone and everyone interested in birding is invited and welcome to attend our birding field trips and meetings. There is never any pressure to join our organization, but we hope you find something you like and will return.
WPA Cabin 13 is centrally located in the park, but easily overlooked. Once you enter the park continue on past the Park Office (on your right after you enter the park) until you come to a fork in the road. Turn right onto WPA Road and continue on past the old rock Cedar Lodge (also on your right). After crossing two speed bumps on WPA Road, look for the shaded playground on your left. Turn left onto the gravel drive next to the shaded playground, and WPA Cabin 13 will be the first cabin on your right. Look for the Bird Meeting sign by the road.
We hope to see you Saturday, 20 October 2018.
