Field Trip to Duck River Unit – 23 July 2016

druThe John W Sellars – Lebanon Chapter of TOS does not meet in July, but we have a field trip to the Duck River Unit near New Johnsonville in West Tennessee on Saturday, 23 July 2016.

Sack-LunchThis is an all day event and bathrooms are not readily available. You will need to bring lunch, drinks and any snacks you may want. It takes at least 2 hours to get there from Murfreesboro and 2.5 hours from Lebanon.

water__nutrigrainAdditional details on the trip will be available in the next week or so. Stay tuned to this website and if you are on our mailing list watch for email updates.

american_avocetWhat will we see?

Various sandpipers & plovers, Caspian & Black Terns, American White Pelicans, various herons (great blue, little blue & green) & egrets (great, snowy & cattle) are all possible. Stephen suggests making yourself familiar with Black Terns in non-breeding plumage, and brushing up on waders and shorebirds.

If you plan to join us for the trip, please drop us a note at lebanonbirding@gmail.com or complete the form below. Knowing how many to expect will allow us to better plan the trip. Simply email us your name, how many birders you expect in your party, whether you are willing to drive or prefer to ride, and if possible include a cell phone number so that we can communicate during the trip if necessary or in the event of inclement weather.
