Field Trip & Next Meeting: 19 Sept 2015 – Old Hickory Lake & Butterfly Migration

The next meeting of the John W.monarch_butterfly_clipart Sellars Chapter of the  Tennessee Ornithological Society will be Saturday, 19 September 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Dixon Merritt Nature Center in Cedars of Lebanon State Park. The program will be on Butterfly Migration and led by Linda Robertson.

Before the meeting, Stephen Zipperer will lead a field trip around Old Hickory Lake. Anyone and everyone interested in birding is welcome to participate in this outing.

birdwatchingStephen will begin at Shutes Branch Access/Recreation Area starting at 7:30 am on Saturday morning (19 Sept). Stops will likely include Cedar Creek Recreation Area (if they don’t require a fee to enter), Davis Corner Access, Laguardo Recreation Area, Tyree Access and maybe a few other spots along the way as time permits. The caravan will then travel back to Cedars of Lebanon State Park for the John W. Sellars Chapter Bird Club meeting at 10:30 am (in the Nature Center).

You do not have to attend the meeting to participate in the field trip, but we hope you will.
