Field Trip Around Old Hickory Lake
Saturday, 16 February 2019

CANCELED

Due to the inclement weather and multiple illnesses among our members and friends, the field trip scheduled for tomorrow, 16 February 2019, is canceled.

.

I apologize for the late notice but we were still uncertain about going until late this afternoon. I know, I know — we’re getting as bad as the Wilson County school system about closing every time you turn around, but we will make it up. If the decision is made to do some birding as a club before the March 16 meeting, we will send an email and post a notice on our website. Otherwise we will see you on March 16.
.

Thank you all for being a part of the Lebanon Birding Club. I hope you have a safe and warm weekend. And if you get a chance be sure to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count which started today and runs through the weekend.

On Saturday, February 16, 2019 — weather permitting — members of the John W Sellars Chapter (Lebanon) of TOS and friends will meet at the Laguardo Recreation Area on HWY 109 at 7:30 AM. We will spend the morning birding various hotspots on Old Hickory Lake around Wilson County looking for ducks, pelicans, and other waterfowl. With luck we could see Bald Eagles nesting.

The recent snow and cold weather north of here should push waterfowl and other early migrants our way. If the weather looks bad, we will send out a cancellation so be sure to monitor your email if conditions look treacherous. Also, be mindful of the road construction along HWY 109. Hope to see you on Saturday.

If you have not sent in your membership renewal for the year, please hurry and get that in. Thanks

Hope to see you on Saturday, February 16.
