Birding Bedford Lake & Normandy – Saturday, 19 November 2016

bedford_lakeThe next meeting of the Lebanon Birding Club (John W. Sellars Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society) will be Saturday, 19 November 2016. Melissa & Roy Turrentine have graciously invited us to have lunch with them near Normandy. Afterward, we will head to nearby Bedford Lake for some birding.

birdwatchingWe generally scope the lake for wintering waterfowl and perhaps catch a few small birds flitting & gleaning in the trees nearby. Last year we saw Bufflehead (m&f x2) and Red-breasted Merganser (fx2) among the dozen or so other species. We then head  toward the dock to scope the area. If time permits, we will visit Normandy Lake as well. Last year, an adult Bald Eagle, among other species, was spotted above the dam. If interested in the casual atmosphere at the Turrentine home, or in joining the group for the birding at Bedford Lake and elsewhere, please contact Melissa or Roy for details. — romejo1990@gmail.com
