Looking for interesting birding hotspots? Check out the eBird mobile app. Press Explore >right top>brings up Radius, distance in miles, enter county interested in, then “done”. Press the “search hotspots in this area” box which brings up hotspots in the area. Select a hotspot>Map shows location with choice of street map or aerial map. Additional data is “Details” which is what birds were seen in this location plus “Directions” which gives you driving directions to the selected hotspot. You can also Search by bird species.

If you update your mobile Merlin Bird ID app through the app store or your google play store, the new feature is: On the home page, there will be a number below your “Bird of the Day”. That number denotes how many Merlin users are currently (in real time!!) listening to birds across the globe. Amazing!
